Chrome Extension Analyzer Sign-in Optimize Post to TikTok Shop Haze Signal

Overview

Haze Check is the Haze Chrome extension. It checks public TikTok video links and displays a live playback-quality HUD called Haze Signal. Its side panel lets you sign in with Discord or Google, optimize your own videos with Haze Engines 5.5 and 6.0, send them to TikTok Studio to post, and buy Haze Credits, Haze Plus or Premium. The extension has no cookie-management feature.

This page covers what the extension itself does. Data held by the Haze backend at api.hazemethod.xyz is covered by the Haze Method Privacy Policy.

Checker / Analyzer

When you choose Analyze video, the extension sends the entered public TikTok video URL to https://api.hazemethod.xyz/check and /check/technical. Tracking query parameters and fragments are removed before sending. The backend retrieves public post information and probes the video stream to return post statistics, resolution, frame rate, stream size and a Haze verdict. The backend may use TikTok, its content-delivery networks and video-metadata providers to retrieve the requested public video.

These requests also expose ordinary network information, such as your IP address and request headers, to the Haze backend and its hosting infrastructure. The extension omits browser credentials, cookies, session tokens and account identifiers from analyzer requests. It does not send a selected local video file.

The Use current video button reads the active tab's URL when you choose it. It fills the link field only for a supported TikTok video link. It does not automatically submit the URL, inspect other tabs or collect your browsing history.

Sign-in

Continue with Discord and Continue with Google open a sign-in window through Chrome's identity API. The window loads https://api.hazemethod.xyz/auth/discord or /auth/google, which sends you to Discord or Google to approve the sign-in and then back to the extension's own return address with a Haze session token, your username, avatar address and rank. Discord and Google apply their own privacy policies to that step; the extension never sees your Discord or Google password.

The session token and profile are kept in chrome.storage.local until you choose Sign out, the token is refused by the server, or the extension is removed. The token is sent in the body of the side panel's account requests to https://api.hazemethod.xyz (wallet, membership, credit quotes and reservations, Haze Engine runs and checkout). It is not sent to the Analyzer, attached to links, or shared with TikTok.

Optimize

When you choose a video in the side panel, the extension reads it on your device. To optimize it, it sends https://api.hazemethod.xyz the video's resolution, frame rate and file size (to price it and reserve credits) and the MP4 header: every top-level box except the media data box that holds the video and audio, plus the box layout. Haze's server runs the engine recipe on that header and returns a plan; the extension builds the optimized file on your device from the plan and your own file. The video and audio data are not uploaded.

The finished file is saved through Chrome's download manager. A copy is kept in the extension's IndexedDB storage for 3 days (at most 20 videos or 500 MB, oldest removed first) so you can download it again from Recent; it is deleted when it expires or when the extension is removed. Credit charges, refunds and run records are kept by the Haze backend.

Post to TikTok

When you choose Post to TikTok on a finished video, the extension opens TikTok Studio's upload page (https://www.tiktok.com/tiktokstudio/upload) in a new tab. A content script that runs only on TikTok Studio waits for Studio's upload box, receives that one video from the side panel inside your browser, and places it in the upload box the same way dropping the file in would. TikTok then uploads it to your TikTok account, and TikTok's own terms and privacy policy apply from there. The extension does not type a caption, change post settings, press Post, or read your TikTok account, messages or other pages. On a Studio visit you didn't start from the panel, it does nothing.

Shop

The Shop reads your credit balance and membership status from the Haze backend with your session token. When you tick the Terms and Refund Policy box and choose a purchase, the extension asks the backend for a checkout link, sending the purchase type, the amount for credits and the version of the terms you agreed to. The checkout opens in a new tab on Whop, which handles payment. The extension never sees or stores card or payment details.

Video downloads

Choosing Download on a video report sends that public TikTok link to https://api.hazemethod.xyz/video/download, without browser credentials. The extension validates the returned HTTPS provider address and starts a native Chrome download with a safe MP4 filename. Chrome handles the transfer, including any provider redirects and browser cookies associated with those destinations. The file can differ from the rendition measured in the report.

Downloads continue after the popup closes. Files and Chrome's download history remain until you remove them through your device or browser; clearing the extension's report does not remove downloaded files. Checked TikTok videos are not stored by the extension. The extension does not read your download history; it only follows the progress of downloads it started itself.

Haze Signal

Haze Signal runs on TikTok pages. It observes the active player, video frame timing, buffered media and public video-quality responses to display playback metrics. It does not change upload requests, quality flags, video files or API responses. Playback observations remain in page memory; the extension does not send them to the Haze backend.

Signal makes a periodic HEAD request to TikTok's favicon URL to estimate connection latency. TikTok receives the ordinary browser request information associated with those requests.

Local storage

When you choose Check video in Haze Signal, the extension opens the checker and automatically submits that video's public link to the Analyzer. A short-lived, one-use handoff is kept in extension-only chrome.storage.session; it expires after 30 seconds and is removed when consumed. Playback measurements are not included in the handoff.

The extension saves the last analyzed URL, the returned report and the check time in chrome.storage.local on your device. This is one last-check snapshot, not a browsing-history collection. It remains until replaced by another check, removed using Clear check, or removed with the extension. Your engine choice and the side panel's last tab are kept the same way.

Removing the extension clears its local extension storage and its saved videos; backend account records are separate.

Interface

The popup's Optimizer button opens the extension's own side panel. Links to TikTok or tikhaze.com never carry an analyzer result or account token. All extension scripts, styles, images and the Archivo font are bundled locally; the interface makes no Google Fonts requests and loads no third-party analytics scripts.
