How to post your optimized video so TikTok keeps the quality, which engine to use right now, and fixes for the problems people run into most.

Last updated: October 14, 2026

Which engine to use right now

This list is live. It shows what the Haze team has marked as working today. Use the one marked Recommended unless you need something else.

  • Checking which engines work right now…

Patched means a TikTok change stopped that engine working. Fixing means it's being repaired. Both are switched off in Optimize until they work again.

No method is guaranteed forever

Haze works by optimizing and patching your video's metadata. Nobody can predict how TikTok will change its systems, so always use the latest version and the engine recommended here. When an engine stops working, it's marked Patched or Fixing on this list.

How to post in HD

Every route starts the same way.

  1. Export your video at the quality you want, for example 1080p 60fps or 4K 120fps.
  2. Optimize it on tikhaze.com: open Optimize and drop your video in. You can also use the Haze Check extension.
  3. Save the optimized file. Its name ends in _haze.mp4.
  4. Post it with Haze Upload or on tiktok.com, below. Don't edit or export it again, or the optimization is lost.

Post with Haze Upload

Haze's own TikTok uploader. It sends your optimized file straight to TikTok, so there's no browser cache to get in the way.

  1. Open Upload on tikhaze.com and press Connect TikTok.
  2. Pick your _haze.mp4. If you just optimized it, it's already in the list.
  3. Write your caption and set Who can watch this video to Everyone.
  4. Press Post. Haze shows each step until TikTok confirms it's posted.

Works on phones and computers, and you don't need a Haze account for it. If TikTok's daily limit for Haze is reached, you'll see a message: post on tiktok.com instead.

Post on tiktok.com

Upload in TikTok Studio on the website, not in the TikTok app. The app re-encodes your video.

On a computer

  1. Open TikTok Studio and sign in.
  2. Upload your _haze.mp4. Don't add a TikTok sound or edit it in TikTok.
  3. Set Who can watch this video to Everyone, then post.

On a phone

On a phone, TikTok Studio's upload page only works in desktop view, so switch your browser to it first.

  1. Open TikTok Studio in Safari or Chrome.
  2. iPhone (Safari): tap aA in the address bar, then Request Desktop Website.
  3. Android (Chrome): tap ⋮, then tick Desktop site.
  4. Sign in and upload your _haze.mp4. Don't add a TikTok sound.
  5. Set Who can watch this video to Everyone, then post.

Known issues

Check here before opening a ticket. Every fix has its own link you can share.

Can't add a sound from TikTok

Adding a TikTok sound while you post makes TikTok re-encode your video, and the quality is lost. Add the sound in your edit instead, before you optimize. If TikTok recognizes the song, it links it to your video automatically.

The optimized video has no sound

That's normal, and the sound is still in the file. Post it as usual, with Haze Upload or on tiktok.com, and it will have sound once it's on TikTok.

My phone shows 0:00 or plays only the sound

Also normal. After Haze Lite, Haze Classic or Haze Max, your phone's gallery can show the length as 0:00, or play the sound without the picture. The file isn't broken: post it and it plays in full on TikTok.

Stuck on processing

If TikTok won't finish processing your video, or the upload keeps loading, the quickest fix is to post with Haze Upload instead. It sends the file to TikTok directly, so nothing in your browser can get in the way.

On tiktok.com it usually happens because TikTok keeps old upload data, drafts and settings in your browser, which can make it process your optimized video again. Clear them with one of these fixes:

Computer

Option 1: use a private window

  1. Open a private window: Ctrl + Shift + N in Chrome or Edge, Ctrl + Shift + P in Firefox, or ⌘ + Shift + N in Chrome on a Mac.
  2. Open TikTok Studio, sign in and upload your _haze.mp4 as normal.

Option 2: clear TikTok's site data

  1. On tiktok.com, click the icon to the left of the address (a lock or a sliders icon).
  2. Open Site settings and press Clear data (or Delete data).
  3. Reload TikTok, sign in again and upload.

iPhone & iPad

Option 1: use a private tab in Safari

  1. Open Safari and switch to a Private tab.
  2. Go to TikTok Studio, switch to the desktop site and upload your video.

Option 2: clear Safari's data

  1. Open Settings, then Apps → Safari (on older versions, Settings → Safari).
  2. Tap Clear History and Website Data. This signs you out of websites in Safari.
  3. Reopen Safari and upload again.

Android

Option 1: use an Incognito tab in Chrome

  1. Open Chrome, tap ⋮, then New Incognito tab.
  2. Go to TikTok Studio, tick Desktop site and upload your video.

Option 2: clear Chrome's data

  1. In Chrome, open ⋮ → Settings → Privacy and security → Delete browsing data (or Clear browsing data).
  2. Select Cookies and site data and Cached images and files.
  3. Tap Delete data, then upload again.

Still not HD after posting

Don't post it as private. Set Who can watch this video to Everyone when you post.

The video lags on some phones

The file is probably too big for some phones to play smoothly. Make it smaller with HandBrake, which keeps the quality and smoothness, then optimize it again:

  • In Haze (free): turn on HandBrake in Optimize and optimize your video again. Haze compresses it first, then optimizes it.
  • On your computer: compress it with the free HandBrake app, then optimize the smaller file.

Haze also asks before optimizing a file over 100 MB, because files that size are the ones that lag.

It doesn't work with some browser extensions

Third-party extensions that work on TikTok, such as downloaders, video tools and some script blockers, can step in while you upload and stop your video from posting in HD.

Turn off extensions that work on TikTok, or upload in a private window, where extensions are usually off. Or post with Haze Upload, which sends the file to TikTok directly.

Using Firefox

Haze works in Firefox, but HDR videos don't. We recommend a Chromium-based browser such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Brave.

How do I cancel Premium?

On tikhaze.com, open your account menu (top right; on phones, Menu → Account), press Cancel next to your Premium plan, then confirm. This works for Monthly, Half-yearly and Yearly.

  • Paid plan: the next charge is stopped, and you keep Premium until the end of the time you've paid for.
  • Free trial: cancelling ends the trial and Premium right away, and you won't be charged.
  • Haze Plus: cancel it from Orders in your Whop account.
  • Card or receipts: go to Orders in your Whop account.
  • No Cancel button? Cancel from Orders in your Whop account, or email support@tikhaze.com.
